ICE Arrests Convicted Illegal Immigrant Living in San Diego Daycare
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken into custody a convicted illegal immigrant child sex offender, Ezequiel Cruz-Rodriguez, who was living in a daycare setting in San Diego, California.
On Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released information stating that Cruz-Rodriguez had been residing with his wife, a recipient of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), who operates the daycare out of their home.
The agency highlighted Cruz-Rodriguez’s troubling criminal history, noting he had been deported three times from the United States. His initial removal occurred in August 1996, followed by two additional removals in October 2003 and December 2012.
Cruz-Rodriguez re-entered the country illegally after these deportations, although the exact timing remains unclear. His criminal record includes serious charges: lewd acts involving a child under 14, robbery, and possessing firearms illegally, among others.
A senior DHS official expressed outrage, stating, “It is SICKENING to think this pedophile criminal illegal alien was residing inside the home where a daycare operates… Thanks to our ICE officers, this individual will no longer be able to harm children in that environment.”
Additionally, the DHS reported that Cruz-Rodriguez is affiliated with the Logan Heights gang, a significant street gang based in San Diego.
