ICE Arrests Criminal Illegal Aliens in Nationwide Sweep
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the arrest of multiple undocumented individuals who have been convicted of serious crimes, including arson, drug trafficking, and robbery, as part of an ongoing effort across the country.
The agency reported that nearly 70% of those apprehended had prior charges or convictions in the U.S., emphasizing their commitment to public safety.
“Yesterday, ICE agents worked to enhance safety in our communities by apprehending individuals involved in serious crimes,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Biss. “Under President Trump’s administration, if you come here illegally and violate the law, we will locate and detain you.”
Notable Arrests by ICE
ICE highlighted various arrests, including that of Elias Torres Collins, a Honduran who was convicted of arson in Texas.
In Miami, Colombian national Juan David Fernandez Garcia was arrested following his conviction for assault and robbery.
Another individual, Juan Flores Perez, a Mexican national, faced charges in federal court in Florida for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
In the Northeast, Cambodian national Sofas Huong was detained in Philadelphia for possession of criminal instruments and conspiracy crimes. Additionally, Juan Reyes Gonzalez, from Colombia, was arrested in Carmel, New York, on robbery charges.
While ICE did not disclose the total number of arrests made during this operation, they indicated that these cases are part of a larger initiative focusing on individuals with criminal backgrounds.
