The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has apprehended multiple gang members and violent offenders residing illegally in Massachusetts, as revealed by Breitbart News.
This week, U.S. Attorney Leah Foley cautioned Massachusetts politicians that there will be legal consequences for those who attempt to obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities.
“I must say, it has been quite troubling to see interference with ICE operations in Massachusetts,” Foley mentioned in a statement:
This behavior presents a serious risk to public safety. It’s not something to be proud of; it’s an action that deserves condemnation. I’m particularly distressed when anyone, be it a civil servant or a private citizen, unlawfully obstructs ICE operations. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, alongside federal partners, will investigate such violations and pursue charges accordingly.
Todd Lyons, Acting Director of ICE, expressed gratitude for Foley’s support in their recent efforts to detain undocumented individuals with criminal backgrounds.
Among those arrested was Irwin Alexander Martinez, an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador, who was taken into custody by ICE agents near Chelsea, Massachusetts.
ICE agents also apprehended Noe Pena Garcia, another MS-13 member. The 24-year-old illegal immigrant had prior arrests in Boston for carrying dangerous weapons, including brass knuckles and a stun gun.
Moreover, illegal immigrants Moises Amadeo Diaz Rosales and Yandal Diaz Rosales, also from El Salvador, were identified as gang affiliates and arrested during the operation.
“Despite efforts by sanctuary politicians and advocates to hinder ICE operations, our dedicated law enforcement personnel have successfully removed gang members, drug traffickers, and other violent criminals from the streets of Massachusetts,” stated DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“The aim of this operation was to address serious crimes, including assaults and threats involving a minor, and to confront those who have committed murder and battery,” McLaughlin added. “President Trump and Secretary Noem are committed to ensuring that dangerous undocumented individuals do not jeopardize the safety of American citizens.”
