ICE’s Ongoing Efforts to Deport Violent Criminals
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) keeps working to deport the most dangerous criminals and undocumented individuals in the United States.
This week, ICE placed an immigrant detention order on Noel Gerald Niz Malokin, accused of assaulting a pregnant woman in Florida, as reported in a recent press release.
Niz Malokin, a 19-year-old from Guatemala, entered the U.S. illegally on March 14, 2022. He had been released into the country by the Biden administration, according to the press release.
ICE initiated detention proceedings against Niz Malokin to prevent him from being released back into communities where he could potentially harm more innocent people. This action follows a violent incident over the weekend, which resulted in worsening charges against him related to battery involving a pregnant victim.
The victim reported that she had to use a knife for self-defense during the assault, alleging that Niz Malokin repeatedly attacked her.
Niz Malokin sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound during the altercation and was treated at a local hospital before being transferred to the Martin County Jail, where he is being held on a $20,000 bond.
A senior DHS official remarked, “What sort of person attacks a pregnant woman? Criminals like this endanger the most vulnerable in our society and should not be allowed to remain free to harm citizens.” The official emphasized a commitment to preventing further terrorization of American communities.
DHS also noted that around 70% of ICE arrests involve undocumented immigrants who have been charged or convicted of crimes in the U.S.
According to the press release, ICE remains focused on the arrest and deportation of violent offenders and foreign criminals who pose a serious threat to public safety. The agency aims to safeguard the community and prevent future tragedies.
