ICE Keeps Arresting Convicted Murderers and Child Assault Offenders Despite Shutdown

Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) assert that arrests and deportations of criminal illegal immigrants will persist, even amidst potential government shutdowns.

“Despite funding lapses, ICE is committed to targeting the most dangerous illegal aliens, including those convicted of serious crimes like rape, child exploitation, murder, gang affiliation, and terrorism,” stated Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security.

With the backing of the Trump Administration’s pivotal legislation, we are poised to continue hiring, training, and deploying law enforcement across the nation to enhance safety. While some Democrats portray our dedicated ICE agents as villains and liken them to secret police, we remain focused on our mission. They may prioritize politics, but we prioritize the safety of the American public. The deportations will not cease.

This week, for example, ICE detained Gerzaingomez, an undocumented Mexican immigrant previously convicted of second-degree murder in Los Angeles, a sanctuary city.

In similar cases, ICE also arrested illegal Mexican immigrants Mauricio Ibarra-Cruz and Joshua Alexander Cortez-Ramirez.

Ibarra-Cruz had been convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Lubbock County, Texas, while Cortez-Ramirez faced charges in Tejama, California for child cruelty, sexual assault, and associated crimes.

Yujian Zheng, an undocumented immigrant from China, was captured by ICE following convictions for alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling in the Northern Mariana Islands. Mario Torres Herrera, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was arrested after being found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon in Massachusetts, another sanctuary state.
