ICE plans to send agents to Portland due to rising Antifa violence

Ice facility heavily damaged after tragic shooting

Exclusive footage reveals extensive damage at the Dallas Ice Facility following a deadly shooting incident. Acting Ice Director Todd Lyons shared his thoughts on the situation and highlighted the recent enforcement actions in Portland, including the arrest of a school principal from Des Moines.

Federal immigration officials are gearing up to deploy agents in Portland. They’re responding to increasing attacks on personnel and facilities from groups opposing ICE. Officials from ICE have stated they would take action if local authorities don’t step in.

Lyons described the ongoing clashes, stating, “It was a consistent nightly battle with Portland’s Antifa.” He mentioned that assistance from local and state officials hasn’t been forthcoming.

The city has gained federal scrutiny due to protests outside the local ICE facility. While several arrests have occurred, Lyons emphasized that more backing is essential.

The tension in Portland is escalating as the consequences of a crackdown on protests from the past few years remain palpable. In the wake of an attack on the Dallas facility on September 24, 2025, which left two detainees dead and another injured, Lyons expressed concerns over safety. The shooter ultimately took his own life, and police reported that recovered shell casings bore an “anti-ICE” message.

President Trump has declared an intention to send 200 National Guard troops to Portland to assist immigration officials, positioning them near the protest areas. On social media, he indicated he’s working with the Department of War to ensure adequate troop numbers are provided for the protection of the facility.

Lyons acknowledged that plans for deployment are in the works. “They’re preparing now, and we certainly need to address the situation in Portland,” he mentioned, reiterating the commitment to protect ICE personnel.

Meanwhile, Mayor of Portland, Keith Wilson, alongside Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, has criticized the planned deployment. They argue that Oregon’s current sanctuary status is sufficient and that the proposal by Trump is, in their view, illegal. Kotek emphasized on social media, “There is no uprising; no threat to national security.” She wants to reassure that local public safety needs can be managed without federal intervention.
