ICE says Colorado authorities not helping in search for escaped illegal aliens

Officials in Aurora, Colorado are allegedly refused to support our immigration and customs enforcement facilities (ICE) with two illegal immigrants who fled from Denver contract detention facilities on Tuesday.

Illegal immigrants Joel Jose Gonzalez Gonzalez, 32, and 24-year-old Gairondo Vido Romero fled the facility at some point Tuesday after being explained to the entire facility at 2pm.

Aurora Police shared the document with Fox News Digital, who said facility staff had noticed the escape around 12:35am on Wednesday. Aurora police officers also said they responded to an “external agent assistance” at 5:13am on Wednesday.

Aurora Police spokesman Joe Moylan said the department had not received reports of detainees who fled until about 2:30am, two hours after the man went missing, five hours after the facility's electricity was generated.

The document showed that assistant facility director Mohamed Benani told Aurora Police that power from the detention centre was released around 9:30pm on Tuesday and the facility's backdoors were opened to the soccer field.

Benani believes that was when both inmates fled the back door. Staff at the facility began an emergency count around midnight and noticed that both men were missing.

As of the end of Wednesday, the facility still has power, but authorities said camera footage should be able to be viewed once it is restored.

Ice said when agents contacted the local government they refused to assist in searching for the two escapees who were still running as of early Thursday morning. They also said they notified state and federal law enforcement partners of the search.

Moylan told Fox News Digital that Aurora police will “support anxiety” if a man is confirmed to be in Aurora.

“This has been a cold event since the time I was notified,” Moylan said in a statement. “We are working with our federal partners to determine if the escape has any connection to the city of Aurora. When the warrant is active and these men are confirmed to be in Aurora, we will support our anxiety.”
