Idaho Boy Achieves Dream of a Mini Garage After Beating Brain Tumor

A Young Idaho Boy’s Wish Comes True After Overcoming a Brain Tumor

A three-year-old boy from Idaho, Crazen Wood, recently saw his dream of having a child-sized garage come to life after successfully battling a brain tumor.

Living on a farm, Crazen now has a special place for his Power Wheels, thanks to the efforts of Make-A-Wish Idaho and KTVB 7. His father, Cash Wood, mentioned, “That’s pretty much all he’s talked about in the last month. He really got involved in the construction process—who knows, we might have a new little contractor on our hands.”

His mother, Oceana Wood, expressed their happiness upon learning that Crazen’s wish had come true, noting the joy it brought him during this journey.

The custom garage includes an electric door and a matching dog house, perfectly accommodating all of Crazen’s Power Wheels. Community members and local businesses gathered to celebrate the completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Janie Best from Make-A-Wish Idaho highlighted the collaboration involved, saying, “It’s about time. It’s about talent and treasure. We have donors who fund wishes and those who contribute their time and skills, like the vendors here today.” She emphasized how fulfilling it is to provide hope and joy to children and their families in difficult times.

Derek Daney from DD Repair, who led the project, shared that it was a true pleasure to be part of this endeavor.

Oceana described her son as a “sun in human form” and noted that he seems wiser than his years, saying, “He’s three years old but feels like he’s thirty.” Two years back, Crazen was diagnosed with a brain tumor after noticing unusual growth and changes in his behavior. A visit to the emergency room revealed a lime-sized tumor in his cerebellum. Shortly after, he underwent surgery, during which doctors successfully removed 95 percent of the tumor.

Later, the family learned through social media that the remaining tumor could potentially be removed. They connected with a neurosurgeon in Tennessee, who reassured them that he could help. “It’s wild—who would’ve thought a simple Facebook post would lead to this?” Oceana recalled. After the surgery, Crazen has had clear MRI scans.

Now, Crazen is thriving and full of life. Oceana reflected on their experiences, saying, “It’s really about finding a silver lining in every situation. Our perspective on what constitutes a bad day has definitely changed.”
