Idaho prison looks into suspected released video of Bryan Kohberger's cell.

Authorities are looking into a leaked video that allegedly shows convicted murderer Brian Coberger inside his prison cell, reportedly with access to a cellphone. The footage appears to be taken from above, and in it, Coberger can be seen placing items on a shelf. In response, the Idaho Department of Corrections acknowledged the circulating video, stating they’re investigating its authenticity. They also emphasized that if it’s genuine, it would violate prison policies, and those responsible would face consequences.

Interestingly, the department suggested the video could be manipulated or generated by artificial intelligence. They mentioned recent reminders sent to employees about adhering to prison policies regarding social media. Sharing security footage publicly is strictly prohibited, and the department is considering all legal actions, including potential criminal charges.

Coberger is currently serving four consecutive life sentences without parole for the murders of four University of Idaho students back in 2022. He is being held in what’s referred to as “J Block.” This video leak follows Coberger’s complaints to prison guards about mistreatment from other inmates, who reportedly provoke him, according to former detective Chris McDonough.

It’s clear that Coberger is navigating a challenging environment, and officials insist they maintain a safe and orderly setting within the prison, where he is currently housed alone.
