IDF Confirms Hezbollah’s Next-in-Line Killed in Early October Airstrike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that Hezbollah's incoming president Hashim Saffieddin (or Safi al-Din) was killed in an airstrike in Beirut, Lebanon, in early October, ending weeks of speculation about his fate. was struck.

In a statement, the IDF said: said:

The IDF can now confirm that Hezbollah Executive Council Chairman Hashem Saffieddin and Hezbollah Intelligence Headquarters Commander Ali Hussein Hajma have been removed by the IDF, along with additional Hezbollah commanders. The terrorists were eliminated about three weeks ago in an attack carried out in Beirut's Dahieh district, a major stronghold of Hezbollah terrorists.

The IAF conducted a precise intelligence-based attack on Hezbollah's main intelligence headquarters, which was deliberately set up in a civilian basement in Dahiyeh.

More than 25 Hezbollah terrorists were inside Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters, including Bilal Saib Aish, who was in charge of air intelligence gathering at Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Syria.

Hashem Saffieddin was a member of Hezbollah's most senior military and political forum, the Shura Council, which was responsible for decision-making and policy-making for the terrorist organization.

Hashim was a cousin of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Due to his family and personal ties to Nasrallah, Hashem had great influence over decision-making within the terrorist organization. During Nasrallah's absence in Lebanon, Hashem served as Hezbollah's secretary-general. For many years, Saffieddin directed terrorist attacks against the state of Israel and participated in Hezbollah's central decision-making processes.

Along with Hashem Saffieddin, Hezbollah intelligence commander and terrorist Ali Hussein Hajma was also eliminated. He was responsible for leading numerous attacks against IDF soldiers.

The IDF will continue operations against senior Hezbollah commanders and those who pose a threat to Israeli civilians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant said earlier this month that they believed Mr Saffieddin had been killed. The IDF only officially confirmed the claim on Tuesday.
