Over the past few days, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released video evidence and photos of a large Hezbollah weapons storage facility hidden in a civilian village near the border with Israel.
In a joint statement, the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA, Shin Bet, and Shabak) said:
The Golani Brigade, under the command of the 36th Division, continues to carry out limited, localized and targeted raids based on accurate intelligence in southern Lebanon. During these operations, soldiers identified weapons storage facilities and operational tunnel shafts and conducted raids to eliminate terrorists and dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the area.
In one of the raids, brigade soldiers identified and dismantled a weapons storage facility and terrorist infrastructure embedded inside a civilian residence. Soldiers found Hezbollah weapons, observation equipment, launchers and intelligence documents in the storage facility.
This is further evidence of Hezbollah's cynical use of civilian infrastructure for terrorist activities, endangering the population of southern Lebanon.
The commander of the Golani Brigade said in a press conference with local troops: This is why we are here. Please continue to work professionally and accurately – I am proud of you. ”
Hezbollah, an Iranian-controlled Shiite Islamic militia, has illegally occupied southern Lebanon for nearly two decades, often seizing Christian towns and using civilians as human shields in terrorist operations against Israel. are.
By attacking Israel, they are committing two war crimes. The first is to attack Israeli civilians, and the second is to attack from civilian areas. Hezbollah also appears to be hoping to provoke Christendom's anger against Israel if the IDF complies.
The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the United Nations refuse to enforce existing binding Security Council resolutions against Hezbollah's presence and weapons in southern Lebanon. Terrorist groups have been firing on Israel without provocation for nearly a year, killing nearly 50 Israelis, forcing the evacuation of 74 towns, including Jews and Arabs, and killing more than 60,000 residents of northern Israel. After being forced to evacuate, Israel launched a ground operation against Hezbollah.
