If Biden Continued His Campaign, Democrats Would Have Faced Greater Senate Losses and Lost More States

Axelrod Discusses Biden’s 2024 Campaign Prospects

David Axelrod, a senior political commentator and former advisor to President Obama, shared his thoughts on CNN’s “Coalition State” regarding President Joe Biden’s continuation in the 2024 presidential race. He suggested that Biden could struggle, potentially losing more states along with the Democrats at risk of losing additional Senate seats.

During the discussion, host Jake Tapper mentioned, “President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden visited the ‘Scenery,’ seemingly trying to go beyond the book.”

Axelrod responded, saying, “I think that’s a bit absurd. Biden has known Mike Donilon, his top political aide, for many years. Mike is a solid guy—known for his media consulting and deep political knowledge. The Democrats have indicated that Biden’s chances of winning are below 5% based on the current campaign dynamics.”
