Former President Donald Trump’s legal team will appeal the former president’s conviction in the New York business documents trial all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary, Donald Trump’s lawyer Will Scharf said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
“I strongly disagree with the suggestion that the New York district attorney was not politically motivated, and I strongly disagree with the suggestion that President Biden and his political allies were not deeply involved in this prosecution,” Schaaf said.
“There is no evidence of that. I’m not going to let you say that any more. There is absolutely no evidence of that,” host George Stephanopoulos said.
Scharf responded: “Well, what about the fact that Matthew Colangelo was standing over Alvin Bragg’s shoulder as he handed down this sentence?”
“This has nothing to do with President Biden. Would you like to answer a question about the sentencing process?” Stephanopoulos said.
“I completely disagree that this has nothing to do with President Biden. I don’t believe President Trump will ultimately face any punishment. We look forward to taking this case to the next court, and if necessary, all the way to the United States Supreme Court, and upholding President Trump’s rights,” Schaaf said.
