If We Pass CR, DOGE Can Claw Back Waste

On Newsmax TV's “Finnerty” broadcast on Monday, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) advocated an ongoing resolution, saying that the difference between today and the government's funding was “not just Congress but also has many grants identified by Doge and Elon Musk. The faster the continuous resolution passes, the more they can get in there and get back some of this government's money.”

Comer said: There are many grant funds identified by Doge and Elon Musk, as well as Congress. The more continuous resolution passes, the faster they can get there, the more they can get in and hold back some of this government's money. Some of these grants the president mentioned in his speech to Congress, some of the grants that Elon Musk tweeted, still have the opportunity to hold on to it, and that's billions and billions of dollars to save. ”

He continued. “The question of the ongoing resolution is that the Senate must pass it. It has to be 60 votes in the Senate, so Democrats want to spend more money. Republicans want to spend less money. The compromise is flat spending, and there is no increase in spending.”

Comer added: “If this continued resolution is not passed, we have no intention of passing Trump's agenda, and Trump's agenda will be the next bill, the budget settlement bill.”
