MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said Thursday on his “Morning Joe” show that many people are foolish not to realize that protests on college campuses are hurting President Joe Biden’s chances of winning in November. He said viewers should change the channel.
Speaking about the Vietnam War protests, Scarborough said: And of course, they grew up during the Great Depression and in rural Georgia. It was a little hard for them to hear about the rich kids on Harvard’s campus taking over and occupying Columbia’s campus. ”
He continued, “If you’re offended by this, please, I’m trying to help you. I don’t want Donald Trump elected. OK? I’m trying to help you. If you’re too stupid to know that, just switch to another channel because we’re solving this problem as a country. And this won’t help the people of Gaza. . And this is of no use to those of us who are trying to fight fascism in America.”
He added, “You remember ’68. It was a big wave. There’s a reason why Reagan won in 1980 with a lot of young voters. There was a Reagan revolution. There’s a reason. The seeds were planted in 1968. Again, I’m not saying the Vietnam War wasn’t an unjust war, it was an unjust war.”
