Netanyahu’s Warning to Qatar Regarding Hamas
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a caution to Qatar, suggesting that if the nation stops providing shelter for Hamas, Israel maintains the right to target terrorists as part of its military strategy.
This warning came just a day after Israel conducted airstrikes against Hamas in Doha, where leaders of the militant group have reportedly been living in comfort for several years.
Netanyahu expressed a shift away from what he called the “Bush Doctrine,” a post-9/11 principle that saw terrorists treated as enemies. He referenced the September 11 attacks as a rationale for seeking out terrorists, similar to how the US pursued Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.
In a statement he made, Netanyahu said:

“Tomorrow marks September 11th. I remember that day well. It was when Muslim terrorists committed the most brutal act on American soil since the nation’s founding.
There will also be a September 11th for us. I recall October 7th. That day saw Muslim terrorists perpetrating horrific violence against Jews, the worst since the Holocaust.
What did the United States do following September 11th? They vowed to pursue those who committed this atrocious act wherever they might be located. Two weeks later, a resolution was adopted by the UN Security Council.
Yesterday, we took action similarly. We targeted the mastermind behind the October 7th massacre. We will not permit Qatar to provide safe havens for terrorists, support Hamas, or host terrorist leaders in luxury.
We have acted just as America did in going after al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and pursuing Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.
Today, various nations around the globe are condemning Israel. They ought to reconsider. After the US eliminated bin Laden, did they criticize? No, they applauded it. They should do the same for Israel as it employs similar reasoning and actions.
Either I will expel them, or you will be responsible for bringing terrorists to Qatar and other nations that harbor them. Otherwise, that’s what will happen.”
The consequences of the Israeli assault are yet to be determined, and it’s unclear if any leaders of Hamas were indeed eliminated.
Nevertheless, the attack has sent a strong message to Hamas that their haven in Qatar is no longer secure.
