Police have charged an illegal immigrant with the murder of 23-year-old Christian Sulka in Dormont, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, on Saturday.
Saul Rivera Ramirez, a 25-year-old illegal immigrant, Arrested He was arrested by Allegheny County police and charged with vehicular homicide and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
According to police, on the evening of Sept. 21, 2024, Sulka was stopped at a red light in Dormont, a Pittsburgh suburb, when he was allegedly struck by Rivera Ramirez, who was allegedly operating a Ford Taurus illegally.
Sulka died at the scene, and police allege Rivera Ramirez got out of the car and fled the scene of the accident.
Rivera Ramirez was subsequently identified and arrested by Allegheny County police, who said they determined he was an illegal immigrant and that detectives had notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“During the investigation, detectives learned that Rivera Ramirez is not a U.S. citizen and is an illegal immigrant,” police told WPXI News. “Detectives contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and will refer further questions regarding Rivera Ramirez's immigration status to the agency.”
Sulka's friends and family Created A GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses. Sulka is survived by his mother and three siblings.
“Christian was a selfless, hardworking and talented individual whose loss will forever change his community and family,” the GoFundMe statement reads.
