Blaze News The riot, which was previously reported and recorded on video, took place at Gate 36, a closed section of the border that is not designated as a port of entry. Most of the illegal immigrants were adult men who allegedly took part in the riot.
El Paso County Judge Ruben Morales denied the allegations. He argued that he was forced to do so because the state had failed to issue a transfer order transferring the case from district court to county court.

District Attorney Bill Hicks argued that Morales had refused to consider additional evidence and asked a grand jury to decide the case. A group of 12 El Paso residents effectively overturned Morales’ conviction and voted to indict more than 140 undocumented immigrants on misdemeanor charges for participating in the riot.
