Illegal immigrant breaks ICE officer’s nose during New Jersey deportation arrest – faces 20 years behind bars 

Illegal immigrants are facing federal charges in New Jersey earlier this year after being told that he used his elbow to tell her by breaking her nose, officials said.

Hector Vilgas Alvarez, a 27-year-old Columbian national, was fined $250,000 if convicted of assaulting a federal officer in Newark federal court last week, committing a crime in prison for up to 20 years.

The alleged attack came after an ice officer stopped Vilgas Alvarez on February 23 in Roselle, New Jersey, identified him as an individual without legal immigration status and was deported.

According to the U.S. Law Office, Vilgas Alvarez “physically resisted” the female ice officer on the face and “forced him to elbow” when authorities tried to detain him.

“As a result of the attack by Vilgas Alvarez, the victim’s deportation officers suffered physical injuries, including a broken nose and a concussion that suffered from severe concession symptoms, including fainting and difficulty breathing,” federal prosecutors said.

The struggle continued after officers ordered Vilgas Alvarez to leave his car.

Colombians strained his body, but as officers tried to put him in handcuffs, he tensed his body and locked his arm inside, court documents say.
