New revelations have surfaced regarding the illegal immigrant from El Salvador, who is accused of murdering a Virginia mother after she allegedly revealed their relationship to his girlfriend.
Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, was found violently stabbed around 6:45 a.m. on August 17 in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, Virginia.
The Fairfax County Police revealed in an August statement that 19-year-old Alexis Cedillos-Campos was arrested “in connection with the homicide” of Puch.
Moreover, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has classified Cedillos-Campos as an illegal immigrant, noting that he was let into the U.S. during the Biden administration.
The DHS indicated that “The Biden administration hand-delivered Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos to the streets of Fairfax County,” emphasizing that he was a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador who was apprehended by Customs and Border Protection in 2024 after illegally crossing the border near El Paso, Texas.
After his arrest, Cedillos-Campos was released into the “interior of our country.”
Sources noted that Puch and Cedillos-Campos had a working relationship at the Bitez restaurant in Herndon, where they were involved in a love triangle.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis mentioned last month that “there are other aspects of that intimate relationship that involve other people.”
“We have video footage of our suspect at the restaurant where he worked with our victim, arming himself with a fixed-blade knife, taking a pair of black latex gloves, taking a water bottle, and then off he goes with the intent to do harm and kill the victim,” Davis noted. He stated that it was “All very premeditated.”
Davis alleged that Cedillos-Campos stabbed Puch multiple times and attempted to burn her body afterward.
“No one deserves to be treated like that,” Davis expressed, adding that Puch was repeatedly stabbed by the 19-year-old.
Further, Cedillos-Campos siphoned gasoline from his motorcycle and filled a water bottle with it after emptying its contents.
The police reported that he splashed Puch with gasoline and tried to ignite her, but he failed.
Cedillos-Campos was apprehended in Prince George’s County on August 19 while attempting to escape when police approached him, according to prosecutors.
Cedillos-Campos was arrested in Maryland by officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service, and he was subsequently extradited to Virginia.
He faces charges of second-degree murder and is currently being held without bond.
Witnesses disclosed that on the night of the murder, Cedillos-Campos left work early, feeling angry because Puch had sent screenshots of their affair to his girlfriend, according to legal documents.
One witness indicated they overheard a phone call between Cedillos-Campos and Puch, during which they arranged to meet. This witness also claimed that Cedillos-Campos threatened to kill Puch.
According to the court documents, Cedillos-Campos allegedly called a witness afterward to say “he did it” before hanging up, leading the witness to assume he meant he had killed Puch.
Investigators reported that Cedillos-Campos confessed to a Fairfax County police detective that he had lured Puch to the parking lot to kill her after she disclosed their affair.
Puch has been described by officials as a “loving mother of a 3-year-old girl.”
