Illegal Migrant Arrested amid Arson Fears

A man believed to be an illegal immigrant was arrested by police after California residents feared he would use a blowtorch to start wildfires in Los Angeles.

This man's illegal stay status is reported Bill Melgin said on Fox News late on January 12th.

ICE sources said the man seen in the viral video was subdued by residents and arrested by police nearby with a torch. #Kenneth Fire The man in West Hills is an illegal immigrant from Mexico named Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva. He is being held on a probation violation and has not been charged with arson.

Melgin continued:

We have heard that ICE plans to file a detention request against him with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, but because of California's sanctuary state law, there is no expectation that the request will be honored. I hear that Sierra Leyva will appear in court tomorrow.

The arrest comes as California lawmakers debate a bill that would provide an additional $25 million to help the state's large numbers of undocumented immigrants avoid deportation during President Donald Trump's second term. It was done while I was there.
