An illegal immigrant has been arrested in connection with the murder of a family of four in New York.

Police said Friday they arrested Julio Cesar Pimentel Soriano, 34, a Dominican immigrant who is also wanted in his home country for another murder that occurred in 2019.
Flame Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were killed Aug. 31 in their Irondequoit home.st.
“It was a horrific scene,” Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters said at a news conference. “I've been on the job for almost 32 years and I've never seen anything like this.”
September 7NumberJulio Cesar Pimentel Soriano was arrested by the police after an extensive investigation.
“Mr. Soriano appears to have illegally entered the island of Puerto Rico and obtained a false New York ID,” the Irondequoit Police Department post read. “That ID allowed him to travel freely from Puerto Rico to the mainland United States.”
“Our condolences go out to the family, friends and neighbours,” Irondequite Mayor Andre Evans said. Spectrum News“It's really unfortunate that this has happened, but the town council and I will work with the police department and allow them to do whatever it takes to bring these people to justice using all available means.”
That morning, firefighters were battling multiple fires at the home when they discovered the family's bodies in the basement.
After further investigation, police determined the family's deaths were unrelated to the fire.
Police say they will only release limited information at this time, but the Irondequite Police Department continues to actively investigate the case to bring justice to the Moreno family.
The Moreno family has a memorial area on their front porch, decorated with stuffed toys and photos of the victims.
