During Thursday night’s debate, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump were asked what they would say to voters who are concerned about their age (Biden is 81, Trump is 78). Trump responded that he has taken two cognitive ability tests with “perfect scores,” while noting that Biden has not taken a cognitive ability test.
“I’m knocking on wood and praying that I’m healthy,” Trump said of his own physical fitness, adding, “I just won two games with the clubs.” [non-senior golf] To win a championship, you’ve got to be pretty smart and you’ve got to be able to hit the ball a long way.” Of Biden, Trump said, “He can’t hit the ball 50 yards.”
Trump then sarcastically retorted: “The biggest lie is that he’s a six handicap. All.
Biden’s response began with an incomprehensible remark about Trump’s height and weight, after which Biden said: [golf] After having a “driving contest” with Trump, he said, “I [golf] When I was vice president, my handicap went down to six.”
Trump, perhaps because such a handicap is considered a wonderful thing, turned away gleefully.
Then things got comical, as Biden turned to Trump as if on a school playground and fiercely declared, “By the way, I told you before, I’d be happy to play golf with you if you brought your own bag.”
There was a significant pause. The air was tense. Biden then challenged Trump with a long, cold stare. “You think you can do that?”
At least it’s less insane than a push-up contest.

Biden was so far off the rails at this point, perhaps forgetting that just seconds earlier he had blurted out, “My handicap was an eight,” that Trump smirked, then quietly retorted, “No, not at all.”
Unfortunately for Biden, the furor over the golf outing left him speechless and unable to get the rest of his words out.
“I’ve seen his swing, I know your swing,” Trump interjected. As Biden seemed to dwell on the matter, Trump interjected, “Stop acting like a kid, Joe.”
Biden’s response? “You’re a child.” Tsk, tsk, tsk.

As expected, people reacted quite strongly to the Biden vs. Trump golfing match.
