That’s why it’s important to have a quick and easy way to alert trusted contacts and let them know where you are and how they can help.

Luckily, your iPhone has a shortcut that lets you do just that. This is called an “emergency” shortcut, and it allows you to send a message with your location to your emergency contacts, or display a message with relevant information on your screen.

One-tap solution for emergencies on iPhone

This shortcut can save lives in many scenarios, such as when you have a medical condition that requires immediate attention, such as an allergic reaction, heart attack, or stroke. You have been in a car accident and need assistance. If you are being attacked or threatened by someone and you need to run away or defend yourself. If you are lost or stranded in a remote location and need help.

This shortcut is available on devices running iOS 12 or later. This personalized emergency shortcut launches a multi-step alert chain with just one tap.

How to set emergency shortcuts

To set up this shortcut, you must have the Shortcuts app installed on your iPhone. If you don’t have it, you can download it for free from the App Store. Once you have the app, follow these steps to set up a shortcut.

Tap Shortcuts for accessibility Select a category and scroll down to the Help section.

Tap plus icon Select (circle). emergency contact When you run the shortcut, you’ll receive a message containing your location. You can select contacts from your phone, such as your mother, or enter the phone number manually.

Next, customize the message sent to your emergency contacts. You can use the default message like this: “I just pressed the emergency button. Please contact me.” Or enter your own message.tap Next.
Then tap plus icon (Circle) Add another emergency contact, like your dad. You can add as many contacts as you want, but keep in mind that each contact will receive a separate message.

How to enable the “Emergency” shortcut

There are two options to activate a shortcut:

You can say this. “Hey Siri, in case of an emergency,” and Siri will run the shortcut.
Open the Shortcuts app and[マイショートカット]from tab[緊急時]Tap the shortcut.

Also, be sure to write down the words “Hey Siri, in case of an emergency” and have it handy. You can save it in your phone’s notes app, write it on paper, or keep it in your wallet or wallet. The hardest part is remembering the trigger words, so writing them down will help you remember them.

Additionally, before testing your shortcut, be sure to alert your emergency contacts so they don’t panic when they receive your message.
