President-elect Trump flipped six competitive states in last week's election. But the benefits he received from voters were not limited to battleground states.
Trump increased his vote share across the country, starting in conservative areas and expanding into heavily Democratic states.
This is a key part of the story of this election, one in which Trump built a broader coalition and led on two of the campaign's defining issues.

Harris' interests are limited to a few different areas.
So far, Harris has won more votes than President Biden in only one state: Utah This was an increase of 0.6 points from the previous election.
But Trump also did about a point better in Utah than he did in 2020. Third-party candidates have declined the most. (And there are still plenty of ballots left to be counted.)
We would have to look in several counties across the country to find Harris' positive test.

Harris posted a small gain in Chaffee County, but coloradoalso known as the “Heart of the Rockies” (which also has some outstanding ballots).
And there are signs that parts of Oregon and Washington may lean more Democratic than they did in 2020 when the count is finished.
These are clear exceptions to the rule. Voters have almost uniformly turned away from Democrats this cycle.

Trump assembled a broader coalition and took the lead on the top two issues
A Fox News voter analysis found that Trump's rise was due to multiple groups, with voters supporting him on two crucial issues.

Mr. Trump's victory was driven by his strength on the economy and immigration, the top concerns of voters. She was seen as a stronger leader than Harris in a time of turmoil, and voters remembered her presidency more fondly than they thought of the current administration. Mr. Trump boosted his scores among his base while narrowing traditional Democratic advantages among black, Hispanic and young voters.
