Indiana woman found alive 6 days after crashing her car

The Indiana woman who survived after hitting it into a ditch, managed to survive by using her hoodie to drink water, according to her family and police.

Breona Cassell, 41, of Wheatfield, was rescued by a local “hero” after finding her while doing drainage work in Brook, northwest of the state on Tuesday, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

“She fell asleep, left the road and entered a very large, deep groove. It was not visible from the road,” Cassel's father, Delmar Caldwell, was quoted as saying by WLS.

“She was using her hoodie, squeezing it and drinking water and trying to survive,” he added. “She was in unbearable pain. She was screaming for help. She could hear the car passing by, but they couldn't see her from the road.”
