Eli Hickerson, 30, was in the car on July 18, according to prosecutors.NumberThe year is 2022, the day Kimbrough shot him.
Kimbrough was driving a box truck and the two vehicles were traveling on Interstate 70 on the east side of Indianapolis.
The driver of the vehicle told investigators he saw a box truck driving erratically on Interstate 465, then exited onto Interstate 70 where he began being pursued by the truck.
The driver said a box truck approached his vehicle and the truck driver fired several shots.
“Mr. Hickerson tragically lost his life during an unacceptable act of road rage violence while commuting home from work,” Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said in a statement.
Kimbrough's lawyer, Israel Nunez Cruz, said his client acted in self-defense and will appeal the conviction.
