Man Found Dead at Disneyland

A 65-year-old man was discovered deceased over the weekend on the grounds of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This incident unfolded near an entrance to the park, which is often referred to as the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

Anaheim police received a call just before 1:45 p.m. on Sunday regarding an unconscious individual near the south entrance of the resort, according to Sgt. Eric Anderson.

Upon arrival, officers found the man lying unconscious on a sidewalk situated between the park’s entrance and nearby hotels. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not observe any signs of trauma or foul play, and it seems his death was due to natural causes, Anderson stated.

The area where the man was found is part of Disneyland property, not public land. The south entrance is designed to help guests from nearby hotels access the park more easily and is distinct from the main entry point of Disneyland.

As of now, the identity of the man remains undisclosed. However, Anderson mentioned that identifying him is likely to be handled by the coroner’s office.

Anderson highlighted that the police department’s homeless liaison officers frequently interact with individuals experiencing homelessness in the vicinity, offering aid and ensuring they are aware of local laws.

The deceased man had previously been in contact with the officers and was known to them, prior to this weekend’s events.

These past encounters were part of the department’s outreach efforts directed toward homeless individuals and were not connected to any arrests or criminal matters, Anderson clarified.

Following the discovery of the man’s body, officials stayed on-site until coroner personnel arrived to manage the situation, with the coroner’s office also tasked with determining the cause of death.

A beer can was found near the deceased; however, it is unclear if it had any relevance to his condition or death, according to Anderson.

Photos and footage from the location depicted police tape surrounding the area beneath a prominent Disneyland Resort entrance sign, with a black privacy screen erected to conceal the site as authorities conducted their investigation.

Disneyland Resort’s Media Relations acknowledged the police response but did not provide further details about the incident, instead directing inquiries back to the police department.
