Exciting News for IndyCar Fans: A New Video Game is Coming
The NTT IndyCar series, known for its thrilling races, has sparked interest among fans for a standalone video game for quite some time. This long-awaited project is finally coming to fruition. Recently, IndyCar and iRacing, a prominent figure in racing simulation, revealed more information, including the game’s expected debut date.
When the game launches, you’ll find me in the guest room. My wife will be busy setting up a racing sim, and I can’t wait to dive in.
For the first time in more than two decades, the NTT IndyCar Series is being developed as an independent game. Titled “IndyCar Racing The Game,” it marks the first release since “IndyCar Series 2005.”
It may sound simple, but honestly, it’s just right. It seems to deliver everything we hope for.
“IndyCar represents some of the most competitive and thrilling racing on the globe, testing drivers with incredible speeds and challenging layouts,” said IndyCar’s Chief Marketing Officer, Alex Damron, in a recent statement. “Our new game captures the excitement and intensity of the sport with hyperrealism. Partnering with iRacing, the top name in racing simulation, guarantees a remarkable new chapter in our gaming journey. We’re eager for fans to take the wheel.”
So, let’s get ready for this!
IndyCar Racing The Game will allow players to experience driving an IndyCar at iconic locations, such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. But, there are so many exciting tracks on the IndyCar schedule. Sure, Indianapolis is a classic, but imagine racing in St. Petersburg or Barber Motorsports Park. What about Arlington or Road America?
There might even be a track that features the Freedom 250 Grand Prix around Washington, DC.
Count me in!
The game is slated for release in early 2027, just in time for the 111th Indianapolis 500 race. It’s set to be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
