Jewelry Influencer Robbed in Queens
A well-known jewelry influencer was attacked with a Taser and robbed of $560,000 worth of jewelry in Queens. Moshe Haimov, known as the “King of Watches,” shared his experience on Monday, detailing how two masked individuals assaulted him last week, pushing him to the ground and taking his watch, chain, and bracelet.
“I’m scared to leave my house right now,” the 39-year-old said about the incident. “It used to be my safe space, but now that they know where I live, it doesn’t feel the same.”
Haimov, who has over 2 million social media followers and counts celebrities like Pete Davidson among his clientele, was approached by one of the robbers, who was dressed in a construction worker’s vest, as he stood in front of an SUV around 10 a.m.
Video footage showed the robber working with an accomplice, both targeting Haimov and taking most of the expensive jewelry he wore.
The suspects sped away in a silver Mercedes-Benz SUV that was waiting nearby. “I feel like I was specifically targeted,” Haimov remarked. “My neighbor was outside just moments before me, and nothing happened to him.”
“Thankfully, my son didn’t come with me that day. He usually assists me during summer breaks,” Haimov mentioned, relief evident in his voice regarding his 13-year-old son being elsewhere that day.
During the ambush, the first attacker shocked Haimov’s leg with the stun gun. Although they attempted to steal another necklace, they discarded it after noticing it had the “WK” logo, saying, “We can’t use this.”
The NYPD estimated that the total value of the stolen jewelry is around $559,000, with Haimov’s watch alone valued at approximately $400,000. Haimov sustained injuries, including cuts and bruises, and was transported to a local hospital, but he mentioned that the emotional impact would linger much longer.
Since the robbery, he has hired around-the-clock security, feeling it necessary every time he leaves for his car. “I’m just grateful to be alive,” he remarked. “That’s what truly matters.”
Known for showcasing his exquisite pieces to millions on social media, Haimov interacts with various celebrity clients. As of Monday, police had not yet made any arrests, though they were reviewing images of the suspects and the getaway vehicle.
“These thugs won’t dictate my life,” he asserted firmly. “They won’t.”
