Her feelings of jealousy were evident.
An aspiring foodie influencer with a penchant for Prada finds herself in a bit of a predicament. After being arrested multiple times for dining and dashing at upscale restaurants, she’s now facing eviction from her luxury apartment. The landlord in question? None other than former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.
Spitzer, who became infamous after a prostitution scandal back in 2007, expressed his frustration playfully: “I tried to get reservations at some restaurants and couldn’t get them.” He chose not to elaborate further.
Chong, 34, is expected to vacate her $3,350-a-month apartment in Williamsburg by December 2. She owes around $40,000 in back rent, as noted in court documents. Her studio, located at 416 Kent Avenue, is often filled with her photos showcasing luxury lingerie and high-end brands like Cartier and Louis Vuitton, which she shares online.
Bob Janey, the building manager, mentioned in a letter to a neighbor that getting rid of Chong was a “high priority.” This decision was partly triggered by complaints about the trash and noise generated by her actions.
Jenny, another building representative, noted in legal documents that they’ve been actively pursuing litigation against Chong. “The NYPD has been here many times, but there has been little long-term improvement,” she added.
Residents reported hearing frequent arguments and excessive noise coming from Chong’s apartment, affecting the entire floor. It seems that the disturbances not only involve loud sounds but also visible conflicts. One neighbor even recounted being yelled at by Chong and finding his name written in red lipstick on his door.
Police were called to the residence three times due to incidents involving Chong—twice in July and once in February—though specific details weren’t provided.
Chong’s lease isn’t set to expire until August 2024.
Spitzer’s Williamsburg development comprises three towers on Kent Street, totaling 857 units with promising views of the Brooklyn waterfront and Manhattan, which began leasing in 2018.
The project has recently been valued at over $650 million.
Spitzer took over the family real estate business back in 2015, after the passing of his father, a notable developer.
Chong has been quite active on social media, regularly sharing photos and videos from her ninth-floor apartment. Some of her posts include striking poses in various outfits, often showcasing an extravagant lifestyle.
Recently, she faced arrests related to high-end dining spots, including Michelin-starred establishments like Francie and Peter Luger. In her social media posts, she has shown disregard toward law enforcement and openly criticized restaurants for their service.
In one particularly snarky post, she remarked about her takeout orders, indicating that many didn’t meet her expectations. “It’s nothing personal. I’ve already come across multiple restaurants,” she noted, hinting at her ongoing dissatisfaction.
At least in one case, Chong has maintained a not guilty plea.
