Surveillance footage captured the terrifying moment a passenger physically attacked the bus driver, pulling him from his seat as the bus traveled down a busy street in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The horrifying scene culminated with the bus crashing into a building.
What are the details?
The Oklahoma City Transit Authority released a video Wednesday showing the attack on an EMBARK bus driver. KFOR TV reported.
“The suspect asked to be dropped off at the intersection of Britton and Western, but the bus driver said he could not do that,” Lt. Jeff Cooper of the Oklahoma City Police Department told the department.
KFOR reported that the bus driver followed city policy and told passengers they could get off at the next designated stop.
The video shows a passenger suddenly throwing a punch at the driver.

As you might imagine, driverless buses don’t have long lanes and can easily veer off the road.
According to KFOR, the video shows the bus eventually crashing into the store.

The bus driver’s seat belt was worn throughout the attack, which the police department said saved him from being thrown through the windshield.

What happened next?
Police identified 23-year-old Tyflon Harrison as the passenger who attacked the bus driver, and Harrison fled the scene, KFOR reported. However, police quickly caught up with Harrison, took him to the hospital for tests, and arrested him, the department said.
“clearly [the driver] “He had bruises and bruises. We immediately took him to a medical facility and he is currently off work,” Jason Farbrush, director of the city’s Department of Public Transportation and Parking, told KFOR. I’m fine,” he said.
Verbrache added to the department that the bus driver followed city policy and did everything he could to keep passengers safe.
“If you find yourself in a situation like that, no matter how much training you have, it’s very difficult to prepare for someone actually attacking you while you’re operating a moving vehicle,” Verbrache said. pointed out to KFOR.
