Inside Brandon Blackstock's last months at his Montana ranch before passing away from cancer

Brandon Blackstock’s Final Months in Montana

Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, reportedly spent his last months battling cancer at his Montana ranch, valued at $1.8 million.

According to an insider, “Brandon preferred a low-key life in Montana, and he found comfort in that.” The source shared this information over the weekend.

Despite having a past in the entertainment industry, it seemed to be a mismatch with his personality. “He was at home in Montana,” the insider added.

Insiders noted that Blackstock enjoyed the tranquility of his ranch, choosing to keep a low profile. “Some of his colleagues from Star Truck [Entertainment] ended up relocating to Montana to work on a rodeo,” they mentioned.

Blackstock was 48 when he passed away, and his health reportedly took a serious downturn earlier this year.

He was described as focusing on his treatment during those last months and spending meaningful time with family. “We’ve seen him with his family more than ever in the past six months,” the insider explained.

Clarkson was said to visit him, bringing along their children, 11-year-old Remington and 9-year-old River, creating precious moments together. However, sources indicated that the singer “was not caring for Brandon” in a way one might expect.

Blackstock’s eldest daughter, Savannah, 23, reportedly stayed close with her father and shared support with his first ex-wife, Melissa Ashworth.

A source stated, “She’s had her struggles. They were pretty close. The news has shocked everyone.” Others noted that Blackstock had looked okay not long ago, though he had lost weight, which was surprising to many who knew him.

Blackstock also had a son, Seth, from his marriage to Ashworth, which lasted from 2001 to 2012. He had two children with Clarkson as well.

Details about further comments from a representative for Blackstock were not available immediately.

Blackstock succumbed to cancer after more than three years of fighting the illness. Meanwhile, Clarkson has been seen less in the public eye, even pulling back from her morning show and discontinuing her Las Vegas residency amid her own health challenges.
