Intel CEO gets mocked for quoting Bible verses in viral post — but there’s a major problem for his critics

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger became a social media sensation this week when he quoted the Bible after his company announced plans to lay off more than 15,000 employees.

Last week, Intel Announced After posting two consecutive quarters of losses of about $2 billion, semiconductor chipmaker Intel has implemented $10 billion worth of cost-cutting measures, including laying off 15% of its workforce, meaning it will lay off at least 15,000 employees. According to The Verge.

“They that know your name will trust in you, for you, O Lord, will never forsake those who seek you.”

A few days later Share the painful newsGelsinger posted the Bible verse on social media.

“Keep your eyes looking straight ahead. Fix your gaze straight ahead. Plan the path your feet are taking. Stand firm in the path you are taking,” Gelsinger posted, quoting him: Proverbs 4:25–26.

One might think that for a company that employs more than 100,000 people and touches the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people, it would be a good thing for those in charge to focus on God’s wisdom.

But that didn’t happen.

Instead, Gelsinger’s social media posts: Over 20 million views — and a barrage of ridicule.

The mockery looks like this:

  • “Hi, I’m new to the stock market. Would it be a good idea for the CEO of Intel to start praying?” one person said. Said.
  • “Intel’s CEO turns to prayer in big recession,” said another. Ridiculed.
  • “If your CEO hands the wheel to Jesus, your company is completely finished,” one person said. Ridiculed.
  • “Turn on religion to save your company?” another said. Ridiculed.
  • “Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger’s tweeting of Bible verses is proof he’s in control of the stable,” says tech news site Gizmodo. Ridiculed.

But there’s an inescapable problem for Gelsinger’s critics: What’s going on at Intel hasn’t caused him to “turn to” religion or prayer.

Instead, Gelsinger, an outspoken Christian, posted a Bible verse to his X account. Every SundayThe week before August 4th, he Quote The prophet Jeremiah. The week before? Psalm 133. he Two degrees Quote From the Gospel of Matthew, early July.

The reaction to Gelsinger’s post highlights growing intolerance towards Christians, especially those who refuse to hide their faith in a secular environment.

Perhaps Gelsinger can find comfort from Psalm 9. He recently quotedhe opened his X account and saw the vicious words being spat out at him.

Psalm 9:10 says, “Those who know your name will trust in you; you, O Lord, will never forsake those who seek you.”
