Tysen Proper’s Troubled Week Unfolds
Tysen Proper, the young man who allegedly plotted to harm President Trump and other officials during a UFC event, is certainly having a rough time.
His scheme, which was exposed after his mother reprimanded him, has led to his placement in solitary confinement, potentially facing a life sentence.
Adding to his woes, social media has lit up with reactions to his unkempt appearance. A viral image of the 19-year-old, looking significantly older than his age, has been circulating online.
The FBI intervened to disrupt Proper and his group’s plan for an attack at the June 14 UFC Freedom 250 event using explosive drones, which intended to draw a crowd into the line of fire of waiting snipers.
Proper was among at least five individuals described as “ultra-religious” guerrillas, arrested in connection with the plans that originated in March within a TikTok group named “Vanguard of the Old” before transitioning to a more private group dubbed “Hunters.”
Once his photo was shared, users on X quickly pointed out his grizzly beard and noticeable baldness, making comments about his appearance feeling more suited to a man facing middle age than a teenager. The criticisms flowed in.
One user quipped, “So bald at 19? No wonder he hates the world.”
Another chimed in with, “I’ve been working at my local auto parts store since I was 9 years old,” while someone else noted, “Growth is different (and worse) in Ohio,” taking a jab at his home state.
Others expressed disbelief, asking if he had served in the Civil War or jokingly speculating whether his age was noted in dog or earth years, with one poster likening him to an “old baby.”
Proper was taken into custody on June 10 after his mother alerted the local authorities about her concerns regarding his online activities involving firearms and questionable communications.
According to court documents, Proper may have had plans targeting various public figures, including President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, billionaire Elon Musk, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During a search of his family home, FBI agents discovered numerous spent shell casings, a large stash of ammunition, and tactical clothing.
He now faces serious charges, including conspiracy to commit a crime against the United States, attempted murder of a federal officer, possession of a firearm related to a violent crime, and dealing in firearms used in a felony.
