Iran accelerating near-weapons-grade plutonium production: Watchdog

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran is taking steps to accelerate weapons-grade uranium nearby in a broader effort to expand its nuclear war capabilities, according to a new report from WatchDog.

As of February 8, Iran had 274.8 kilograms (605.8 pounds) of uranium.Associated PressThose who reviewed the confidential report.

According to the IAEA, approximately 42 kilograms of 60% uranium enriched uranium is theoretically sufficient to produce one atomic bomb if it is enriched to 90%.

“The significant increase and accumulation of the production and accumulation of highly reinforced uranium by Iran, the only nuclear-weapon state that produces such nuclear material is a serious concern,” the IAEA report reported by the AP.

Since September 2023, Iran has not accepted surveillance from institutional inspectors of organizations seeking to monitor the country's nuclear development.

Earlier this month, President Trump signed Memorandum of State Security President Iran effectively denied all paths to nuclear weapons and granted approval to the Treasury and state departments to impose sanctions necessary to limit their progress.

However, the president outlined the possibility of a nuclear peace agreement with the country a day later.

“I want to be a great and successful country for Iran, but it is a country that cannot have nuclear weapons. The United States, which works in partnership with Israel, reports that it is trying to blow Iran to the blacksmith,” he said.I wrote itA true society.

“I would much prefer a verified nuclear peace agreement that will ensure Iran grows and flourishes peacefully. We need to start work soon and celebrate the great Middle East when signed and completed. God bless the Middle East!”

In 2018, Trump escaped from Iran's nuclear deal. Iran's nuclear deal has limited the Middle Eastern country to purity above 3.67% due to its uranium abundance, while maintaining a stockpile of 300 kilograms of uranium.

Last August, Iran's top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei showed he was open to negotiations with the US, but later said the argument was “intelligent, wise or honorable.”

Khamenei's counterpart said they could not enter consultations under the threat of sanctions and other economic pressures.

“When it comes to nuclear negotiations, the Islamic Republic's position is very clear. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut said on Tuesday at a press conference with Russian diplomat Sergei Lavrov.

The report states, according to the AP, “no forays have made in solving the significant protective issues in the relationship between Balamin and Tarkzabad,” the site that the IAEA asks about the origin and location of the artificial uranium particles there.
