Trump’s Views on Iran’s Nuclear Program
During an interview on Friday with Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” President Donald Trump discussed Iran’s nuclear capabilities, asserting that the country doesn’t need a private nuclear program, especially considering its vast oil reserves.
Host Brett Baier posed a question about Trump’s previous comments regarding a potential deal, asking if it would lead to wealth at various levels. Trump responded, emphasizing that Iran seeks an agreement, noting their significant oil resources, which he claims could last for centuries. He remarked on the quality of their oil, describing it as among the best in the world.
Trump continued, saying, “If there’s a country without oil, perhaps nuclear energy could benefit its citizens. But when you’re sitting on one of the largest oil reserves globally, why pursue nuclear energy?”
