Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed on CNN's “Inside Politics” Wednesday that Iran is in a stronger position “nuclearly” because of “Donald Trump's policy failures.” did.
“We want to avoid a major war,” Pelosi said. “As you know, President Obama was cleverly planning to reduce the Iranians' ability to make nuclear weapons. However, this has been ruled out because Iran is once again on the path to enriching uranium or approaching full weapons capability.
She continued, “I don't know how close they are to it, and if they are, I won't say. So, again, we want to avoid a bigger war. We know that Hezbollah and Hamas are proxies of Iran. They are troublemakers in the region. The fact that Israel was attacked by 200 ballistic missiles that flew into Israel is a blessing. The fact that they had no significant impact shows that they must be stopped. But we should now have an open discussion about how to deal with their core. I don't think so. Again, we had a plan to do that. But I think there are other countries that have worked together to do that. The reason we are in such a strong position today on nuclear is because Donald Trump's policies have failed.
