The Iranian military issued a warning on Thursday, vowing to persist in attacking U.S. interests in the Middle East while demanding an end to President Donald Trump’s military threats.
President Trump stated earlier that discussions with Iranian leaders had reached the highest levels and that planned attacks and bombings targeting Iran for that evening had been called off.
The president mentioned on his Truth Social platform that “The discussions and final points were approved, both in concept and detail, by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and others.”
Trump added, “Until this deal is completed, the naval blockade will remain in full effect. We will announce the signing time and location soon.”
Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command (KACH), the headquarters of the Iranian military, declared that recent missile and drone strikes had led to “another defeat” for the United States. The halt of U.S. attacks on southern Iran was interpreted as a capitulation, a response attributed to the Iranian military’s strong retaliation.
KACH asserted that Iran maintains the right to carry out additional strikes “in response to U.S. aggression.”
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) reported on Thursday that they had “successfully struck” 18 key U.S. military targets in two waves of attacks.
These targets included Al Salem Air Base, Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base, and Sheikh Isa Air Base, with the first two located in Kuwait and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
Moreover, the IRGC stated they launched 12 ballistic missiles at Jordan’s al-Azraq Air Base and targeted two oil tankers they claimed were attempting to illegally cross the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the Jordanian military refuted the IRGC’s claims of a “successful attack,” reporting they intercepted all missiles. Bahrain also reported intercepting an Iranian missile, which nonetheless caused collateral damage, injuring an 11-year-old girl.
Kuwait reported that Iran struck an international airport rather than a military facility, resulting in injuries to people and significant damage to radar facilities, equipment, and air traffic management systems.
Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, remarked that President Trump had been called to stop his “repeated threats against Iran.” He emphasized, “A sustainable agreement cannot be achieved through intimidation or force.”
Iravan continued, “Iran has never negotiated under duress and will not yield to pressure or intimidation. The U.S. has pursued this ineffective strategy repeatedly and should realize that threats are counterproductive.”
