Iran Talks Hit Impasse as Regime Says Nuclear Enrichment ‘Non-Negotiable’

The first direct talks between the US and Iran hit obstacles as the Iranian administration declared its nuclear enrichment on Wednesday as it was “unnegotiable.”

Iran enriches uranium well beyond the level required for civilian purposes. The only reason we continue to enrich uranium is to build stockpiles of fissile material that can be used for nuclear weapons.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragci I said Reporter: “Iran’s enrichment is a real, accepted issue. We are ready to build confidence in response to the possibility of concern, but the enrichment issue is unnegotiable.”

In-person talks began earlier this month, and President Donald Trump hinted at military action against Iran if the administration refuses to dismantle its nuclear program. Trump wanted a tougher deal than that negotiated by President Barack Obama in 2015, which left Iran unstoppable as nuclear power around ten years later, and did not stop him from funding overseas terrorism, threatening Israeli, or excludes ballistic missiles.

Iran’s air defense was largely destroyed by Israel last year thanks to Iran’s missile attacks against Israel.
