Speaking on Fox News Channel's “Your World” broadcast Thursday, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon warned the US that Iran will interfere in the 2024 elections “more than we can imagine,” and cited a recent Iranian cyberattack in which Iran sent fake messages to Israelis warning them of the attack.
“Amid rising tensions, another issue that's come up is Iranian interference in the US election and the US response to that,” moderator Sandra Smith asked. “So with just a few weeks to go until the election, how would you sum up the US response and how are you responding to the growing threat that is Iran?”
Danon responded: “I think you have the ability to do that, but you have to be careful that Iran will ignore protocol, ignore diplomacy, and will be more involved than you can imagine. We're seeing that in Israel. There was a cyber attack in the last 24 hours. They were actually sending coercive messages to millions of Israelis, trying to intimidate them.” [an] “Attacks from Lebanon will come. They will do the same here. We have to be prepared for that.”
