Iranian-Americans in San Antonio Unite Against Tehran as Trump Dismisses Recent Offer

San Antonio Rally for Regime Change in Iran

In San Antonio, Texas, members of the Iranian-American community took to the streets again, voicing their desire for the overthrow of the Islamic regime, amid an uneasy ceasefire. During this rally, President Trump dismissed his administration’s latest peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict and revealed plans to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Breitbart Texas observed the rally, where Persian community members displayed signs calling for the end of Supreme Leader Khamenei’s rule and promoted the installation of Reza Pahlavi, the crown prince and son of the late Shah, as a replacement for the current government. Participants expressed hope that the oppressive regime would eventually collapse, paving the way for Mr. Pahlavi to return to Iran and help establish a democracy.

Reporters noted that President Trump indicated he might consider the Iranian proposal but seemed skeptical, stating he would share more details later while expressing doubts that it would change anything. On Truth Social, he conveyed his disbelief regarding the regime’s willingness to accept terms, emphasizing that they have yet to face consequences for their actions over the past 47 years.

On Sunday, President Trump officially rejected the proposal and introduced Project Freedom, which entails escorting vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that any interference would be addressed firmly.

The rally featured a vehicle parade across San Antonio, with cars displaying Iranian flags that were used prior to the Islamic Revolution. Following the parade, demonstrators gathered near a well-known theme park, waving American and Israeli flags while chanting for the freedom of Iranians under the current regime.

A commercial van showcased photos of Iranians—children, teens, and adults—who are facing death sentences imposed by the Revolutionary Guards and the Islamic government. The local Persian community meets weekly, nurturing hopes that light will emerge from the shadows cast by Khamenei’s regime, which continues to cast a long, oppressive shadow over the country.

Attendees expressed their distrust of the regime, with one participant pointing out, “They lie all the time; they’ve never admitted their nuclear ambitions.” Skepticism extends beyond the rally participants; regional neighbors also share concerns about trusting Iran’s proposals. Anwar Gargash, a senior official from the United Arab Emirates and an advisor to President Mohammed bin Zayed, articulates the sentiment, cautioning against reliance on any agreements from Iran given the regime’s history of aggression.

The conflict began on February 28, and extensive airstrikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure have since damaged various military facilities, including air defenses, missile production sites, naval assets, and nuclear weapon facilities.
