An Iranian official issued a stern warning, claiming the Islamic Republic would retaliate decisively. Another official explicitly threatened the United States, suggesting that any U.S. attack would lead to severe consequences, according to translations of their posts on social media.
Ebrahim Rezaei, identified as a parliamentary representative and spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, mentioned that “the martyr Khamenei taught us not to fear America and affirmed that ‘falsehood will perish.'” He advised that Iran would respond with force.
Mohammad Berger Ghalibaf, the speaker of Iran’s parliament, also cautioned against U.S. actions, asserting, “The United States hasn’t grasped that bullying and broken promises are no longer acceptable. If you choose to attack, you will face repercussions. Don’t hesitate, or you may end up in a worse situation. The Strait of Hormuz will only operate based on an ‘Iranian agreement’ rather than American intimidation.”
These statements came after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced new military actions against Iran.
According to CENTCOM, “Under the directive of the Commander-in-Chief, we’ve executed further strikes to diminish Iran’s threats to navigational freedom in the Strait of Hormuz.” They emphasized holding Iran accountable for its recent unjustified aggressions towards vessels in the crucial waterway.
President Trump declared that the ceasefire with Iran was effectively over following a new attack. Kuwait and Bahrain reported recent assaults.
The Kuwaiti military spokesperson mentioned they intercepted and destroyed several ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones targeting their airspace.
As Iran’s Revolutionary Guards gain prominence in negotiations, Trump asserted, “Iran is being deceitful.” He indicated that the ceasefire, from his perspective, is finished.
The Bahrain Defense Forces also stated they dealt with multiple Iranian air attacks this morning, successfully intercepting and destroying them, showcasing their readiness.
