Iran's government facing its 'lowest point' in 45 years as protests persist, warns Keane

In a recent “Special Report,” Retired Gen. Jack Keene, a senior strategic analyst, shared a critical view of the Iranian regime, especially regarding its response to ongoing anti-government protests. He implied that the regime should heed warnings from former President Trump.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, made it clear that the U.S. would be “locked, loaded and ready to go” if the Iranian government continued to harm protesters. This statement came as protests have now persisted for over a week, during which at least 44 individuals have reportedly been killed by Iranian security forces, according to the National Council of Resistance.

Keene went so far as to say the Iranian regime is at its “most vulnerable moment” in 45 years, suggesting that it faces “no prospect of recovery.” He highlighted Trump’s warning about the absence of uncertainties and pointed out notable differences between these protests and those in the past.

From a political standpoint, Keene noted that the Iranian regime is failing to satisfy the social, political, and economic needs of its people. Economically, he believes they are in dire straits with no chance for revitalization. Militarily, he argued that the regime has essentially lost its standing in Syria and that many of their regional proxies have been severely weakened.

Linking this situation to civilian protests, he expressed that rising dissatisfaction could lead to a breakdown of trust among the populace, as individuals worry about their survival.

When asked by Fox News anchor Bret Baier whether he expected an imminent attack from the U.S. or Israel to support protesters, Keene seemed uncertain. He remarked, “I think we will take what the president says seriously,” but stressed he wasn’t sure what the U.S. leadership was contemplating, although he acknowledged the seriousness of Trump’s comments.

Keene asserted that the U.S. military would likely target Iran’s nuclear facilities in the near future, reinforcing his perspective with a reminder of past events. He concluded by suggesting that anyone dismissing Trump’s statements now risks being reckless and irresponsible.
