Iran’s Supreme Leader Criticizes US Leadership
During a recent speech, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a sharp critique of the United States and President Donald Trump. He labeled Trump a liar, claiming the American leadership brings disgrace to its people, echoing the familiar chant, “Death to America.”
This address, broadcast on Iran’s state-run Channel 1, drew crowds that enthusiastically joined in chants of “Death to America,” “Death to Britain,” and “Death to Israel.” Khamenei accused US leaders of using military might to perpetuate conflict.
“Some comments made by the US President during his recent regional visit are simply not worthy of a response,” Khamenei stated, suggesting that the remarks were so beneath consideration that they would embarrass both Trump and Americans alike.
His audience, in support, erupted into applause and renewed their anti-American chants. Khamenei questioned Trump’s claim of promoting peace through power, calling it false. The crowd again echoed “death to America” in response.
Despite the US being accused of fostering terrorism in the Middle East, Khamenei shifted the blame to the US for ongoing violence, suggesting they disguise their responsibility while supporting chaos in the region.
He challenged, “When have they ever used their power for peace?” and maintained that Iran would only enhance its strength amidst these pressures. “Every day we increase the power and strength of our nation,” he stressed, with a nod to a higher authority.
Khamenei also demanded that the United States withdraw completely from the Middle East, asserting, “America must leave the region.” He took a hard stance against Israel, describing it as the “source of corruption, war, and discord,” and likening it to a “fatal cancerous tumor.”
The crowd’s fervor reflected his sentiments, shouting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” repeatedly, denouncing perceived hypocrites and ally governments.
His speech underscores a steadfast animosity toward the US, unfazed by the Trump administration’s efforts to negotiate with Iran on nuclear issues and regional stability. Concurrently, Republican lawmakers have been pushing for Iran to completely eliminate its uranium enrichment capabilities.
Senator Ted Cruz recently cautioned about the threats posed by Khamenei’s regime and its implications for US national security, criticizing the Biden administration’s diplomatic approach as dangerous. Cruz claimed Iranian leaders were actively plotting against Trump.
He noted that they had even hired a former US official and a hitman to target current US positions, remarking on the untrustworthiness of such individuals. Cruz argued that a complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure is essential.
Highlighting the personal attacks on Trump, Khamenei’s comments reveal that anti-American sentiment remains central to the regime’s ideology. The chant “Death to America,” amplified nationwide, serves as a stark reminder of the Iranian leadership’s persistent hostility and inflammatory rhetoric.
