Kansas City Chiefs Coach Linked to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship

It seems Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid might have played a role in the budding romance between pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce.

Reid, who is a 35-year-old tight ends coach, has led Kelce to three Super Bowl appearances between 2020 and 2024. Since Swift and Kelce became an item, they have faced speculation that their relationship is more of a publicity stunt. A contract reportedly leaked online in 2024, suggesting they may have an advertising deal in place.

While they were still together, Swift made an appearance on Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” where she was asked about the true nature of her relationship with him.

“He was friends with my father,” she mentioned, implying some personal connections. Jason Kelce, Travis’s brother and co-host, pointedly asked if Reid indeed facilitated their match.

“Andy Reid recently shared that he set you up. How true is that?” Jason questioned.

“Even if Andy Reid claims that, we’re just gonna wait,” Swift chuckled. “That’s what he says, I guess.”

While she maintained a lighthearted tone, she noted that Reid had indeed reached out to her through her father, Scott, speaking well of his star player.

“He was friends with my dad,” Swift reiterated. “My father’s the most social person I’ve known. I mean, he can strike up conversations with anyone!”

She humorously recounted that even 50 years ago, her father met someone at the airport and ended up making friends regularly. “He forms such meaningful connections,” she added.

Despite not being familiar with Reid’s role in sports, Swift remembered him attending her concerts over the years, thanks to the friendship he developed with her father. “I really didn’t get what he did, but I knew he was my dad’s friend, Andy Reid,” she reflected.

It was only after Kelce reached out with the question of whether she wanted to date him that things began to take shape for the couple.

“Everyone seemed to have heard that,” Swift laughed. “It felt like the ‘shot heard around the world.’”

Swift revealed that many, including Coach Reid, encouraged her to take a chance on Kelce. “It was like everyone had her back, making it hard to resist!”

Entertainment writer Natasha Bias speculated that Kelce’s confidence was a significant factor in their relationship, suggesting he was quite proactive in his attempts to connect with her.

Not everyone agrees on how the two became a power couple, but their story is sure to be part of Chiefs’ lore and future documentaries, especially given their ties to recent Super Bowl victories.
