A review of the Giants' 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
offense
It looks bad, but it's nothing to be ashamed of. Forget about the final stats. This was an abomination. He had three first downs and 45 total yards in the first half. Everyone knew Todd Bowles blitzed like crazy — apparently everyone except the offensive line.
Tommy DeVito (21/31, 189 yards) was dominated in the first half. He was sacked four times in that game. Rookie Tyrone Tracy (9-42) committed another costly fumble. That's becoming a problem. Malik Nabers (6-64) was not targeted in the first half and was frustrated with several drops.
Darius Slayton had no catches (only two targets). C John Michael Schmitz was obliterated by Vita Vea for a sack in the second quarter. LT Jermaine Elemunor (quad) left the game early. It's clear that Daniel Jones wasn't the only problem, right?

defense
Oh yeah, another missed tackle by the gang that couldn't get it together. High school teams are better at getting their ball carriers on the ground than this.
Baker Mayfield (24/30, 294 yards) ran for a TD and mocked the Giants with DeVito's signature body language. The winner goes to ridicule. Bucky Irving (12-87) led the rushing attack with 156 yards. Bobby Okereke's missed tackle led to the Bucs' first TD.
Okereke forced a fumble to Sean Tucker, and Tampa made a field goal. Tyler Nubin had a nice pass breakup against Mike Evans in the first quarter, but the rookie safety whiffed several times.
Deonte Banks' illegal contact penalty led to a TD for the Bucks. Banks seemed content to allow his receivers to catch the ball in front of him and then attempt a tackle. Adoree Jackson blatantly dragged Evans down, resulting in a 23-yard pass interference penalty. DJ Davidson fumbled and recovered.

Jamie Gillan's first punt returned the Bucs to their 16-yard line. The next punt went 53 yards out of bounds at the Tampa 18. He converted a third down within 20 yards. Good kickoff coverage pushed the Bucs back to their own 2-yard line. There were no field goal attempts for the Giants.

coaching
If I was told again, “I had a good week of practice,'' I would have to throw something at the wall. No matter what Brian Daboll sells, his players aren't buying it — and the situation is getting worse.
It was a desperate feeling to watch Daboll try to score with Giants No. 37 on fourth out and first base late in the first quarter. As for defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, what is his unit good at? Tackles are terrible, the pass rush is questionable, and stopping the run is optional.
