India is failing women.
average
90 rapes a day A frightening statistic is that almost four rapes occur every hour in this country.
The actual number is likely to be much higher, as social stigma and distrust of the legal system prevent many rape victims from speaking out.
This is not a woke hyperbole. Violence against women in India is systematic. It is firmly entrenched in social structures and perpetuated by systems that protect the powerful while leaving victims powerless.
The incident was triggered by the gang rape of a Brazilian-Spanish tourist in the eastern state of Jharkhand in March.
spreading angeronce again highlighting how dangerous Indian women, and even foreign tourists, are. The 28-year-old woman and her husband were on a months-long motorcycle tour through Asia, spending the night in the Dumki district. They thought they were stopping for some much-needed rest. Instead, they were horrified and their lives changed forever.
shattered life
This tragic incident is not an anomaly, but part of a broader pattern of violence that Indian and foreign women face within the country. Recently, in the eastern state of Orissa, a woman
was sexually assaulted by a group of police officers — within the supposed sanctuary of a police station. It shows how bad things are when people sworn to uphold the law become perpetrators of truly unimaginable violence.
The recent rape and murder of a resident doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital only adds to this shocking story. After 36 hours of hard work, the young woman went to the seminar room to take a nap. Her naked and brutalized body was discovered the next morning.
Incredibly, university authorities initially ruled her death a suicide. An autopsy soon revealed that she had been raped and murdered. Once again, those responsible attempted to cover up the crime by protecting the facility rather than the victims.
common story
Incredibly in India,
corrupt countryit's an all too familiar story. Authorities try to obscure the truth, protect reputations, and downplay violence. When heinous crimes like rape occur, the system is thrown into disarray to deny the scale of the problem rather than provide justice. This is a symptom of a deep-rooted social disease in which women are conditioned to remain silent and systems are designed to suppress evidence.
Despite India's image as a rapidly modernizing democracy, primitive thinking prevails. For those who might dismiss this as bigotry and xenophobia, consider that this is a country where not only is there a caste system, but one that reigns supreme. The lowest class of people, the “untouchables,” are subject to systematic discrimination and ostracism. In India, cows are treated with much more respect than these people. There is nothing more primitive than this.
Even in big cities where progress is supposed to be the hallmark of modernity, women are under constant threat of harassment, assault, and abuse. Although the law exists on paper, in reality, justice is a distant dream for many victims.
What is shocking is not just the violence, but the scale at which society tolerates it. In the West, we find feminist discourse focused on microaggressions and perceived disrespect, and disconnected from real danger. But in India, the threats against women from men are real. It manifests as blood, broken bones, and brutalized corpses.
Exporting evil?
This is not just a local tragedy. Violence of this scale does not exist in a vacuum. Thanks to steady immigration, particularly to the UK, Indians only make up around 8% of EU countries.

Britain has been grappling with Islamic gangs for many years. But a lesser-known but equally troubling issue is emerging among young people.
hindu thugs They roam the streets and contribute to the spread of unrest. These groups, often fueled by religious and ethnic tensions, have caused chaos in cities such as Leicester and Birmingham. The rise of Hindu gangs highlights the deepening divisions and lawlessness in parts of England, Wales and Scotland.
Across the Atlantic, Canada has seen a significant increase in Indian immigration, with numbers jumping from 32,828 in 2013 to 139,715 in 2023.
326% increase. As more Indians migrate, an alarming pattern of violence against women appears to be continuing.
Consider the case of Gurpreet Singh Gill, an Indian immigrant in his 40s who sexually assaulted a passenger in a taxi. His plea for leniency in the Federal Court of Canada highlights the potential collateral damage to his family. His wife could lose his home, his daughter might have to drop out of private school and stop dance lessons, and his son had been born just days before the crime.
But in his rather embarrassing plea for mercy, he says:
This reportGill neglected to recognize the real victim, the drunken young woman he assaulted in the back of his taxi. Then there's the Indian-Canadian who lured young students into his hotel room in Toronto. was sexually assaulted she. In July, an Indian man arrested Following a mass molestation incident at a water park in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Alarmingly, as Indian immigration to Canada increases, recent reports indicate that the number of Indian immigrants entering the United States illegally is on the rise.
prefer this route Beyond the southern border is further debated. This migration, driven by hopes of better opportunities and ridiculous deportation laws, poses troubling dangers. This is a pattern of barbaric behavior that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
