Stalling of SAVE Act in Senate Sparks Debate
The SAVE Act, which mandates U.S. citizenship verification for voter registration in federal elections, is currently bogged down in the Senate. President Trump and Republicans, particularly Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), are pushing hard for its passage, aiming to curb non-referendum voting.
But this raises a question: are Republicans too focused on this bill to see a larger issue?
Daniel Horowitz from Blaze Media seems to think so.
As he puts it, “All you hear as we enter this new week is ‘Relief Act, Relief Act.’ When you consider the scale of the problems with Muslim immigration, doesn’t that seem a bit trivial?”
In his latest episode of “The Conservative Review,” he elaborates on how the SAVE Act may divert attention from more crucial immigration issues.
Horowitz expresses concern that we’re in a position where there’s a prevalent belief in what he terms “civilized jihad,” suggesting millions hold negative views about America, with some openly supporting terrorism. He describes the SAVE Act as merely a “small potato” and an “idolatry bill” that overlooks the true challenges at hand.
According to him, “Illegal immigrants and non-citizens are counted in the census. They can eventually register and vote for the Democratic Party. That’s a much larger issue than illegal voting,” he contends.
He continues, stressing that the significant number of Muslims in the U.S. who support groups like Hezbollah and al-Qaeda poses a more pressing concern than the SAVE Act could address.
Yet, simply increasing scrutiny isn’t the solution, he argues.
In an interview, Horowitz and former Muslim Danny Burmawi discuss the notion that Islam is more of a “state” with its own governance than a mere religion. Unlike in the Middle East, where state restrictions limit Islamic practices, immigrants in Western countries can freely advocate for jihad and terrorism.
He notes, “While trying to maintain a state, they can establish a completely unfiltered Islamic state within ours, resulting in a greater concentration of jihad in the West than in the East.”
Horowitz suggests that Republicans should focus on stopping additional Muslim immigration and addressing those who support foreign terrorists, emphasizing, “The Constitution is not a suicide pact.” He believes nations need to resist mass immigration, both legal and illegal.
