Isaiah Bond, a former wide receiver from Texas, has been cleared of any sexual assault charges and is gearing up to launch his NFL career.
Back in April, just weeks before the 2025 draft, he came under scrutiny after a notable warrant was issued in Frisco, Texas, concerning allegations of sexual assault. Despite expectations that he would be picked in the early-to-mid rounds of the draft, the allegations seemed to hinder his position, and he ultimately went undrafted.
Recently, a significant ruling came from the authorities, indicating there would be “no bill” on the charges against him. Following this development, Bond has signed on with the Cleveland Browns, though the team has yet to make any formal announcement.
“First and foremost, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Cleveland Browns for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to continue my NFL career,” Bond mentioned. He reflected on the situation, noting, “I know there have been questions and reports about recent allegations. I am grateful that the prosecutors have decided not to pursue charges. I’ll take this experience as a lesson for personal growth in wisdom, character, and faith.”
While he didn’t delve into specifics about his legal advice, Bond emphasized his continuous denial of the allegations. “From the start, I have rebutted these allegations and maintained my innocence. Today, this remains true,” he affirmed. He also took to Instagram shortly after the news broke, reiterating his stance against the charges.
In a more detailed statement, he said, “I appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself against these unfounded claims. I am fully cooperating with authorities and actively engaging in the investigation process. These accusations have unfortunately affected everyone involved, lacking a thorough review.”
Bond had a standout season with the Longhorns, recording 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns over 14 games.
